Finish is the type of finish or "texture" that a paper or other substrate has as a surface. Depending on the finish and color of the paper or substrate, the image that is being put on the paper or substrate can sometimes have adverse effects such as dot gain, hue or tint change in colors, or overall appearance can appear muddy or distorted. Picking the right paper for the right project can make or break a really exceptional piece.
